Update from Bob Reimer in Al Ain;
As of September 1st 2007, the Maqam Equestrian Centre and Golf Club is now the 'Palm Sports Resort'.
The golf course and rugby club are open. One risks one's life now trying to observe birds and insects around the ponds. I'm not sure how this will actually affect wildlife in the area. There is a new entrance to the area now. At the Twam Hospital round about, head south towards Jebel Hafeet instead of east towards Abu Dhabi then turn right at the next roundabout.

From Neima Pools, follow the main road (Twam Street) to Abu Dhabi and Al Maqam, eventually you will come to the large Horse Roundabout with Town Centre to the right and Abu Dhabi and Al Maqam to the left; continue to the left on Khalifa Ibn Zayed Street. After a few hundred meters make a U-turn at the stoplight and turn back to the Equestrian Centre.
To go from here to Dubai, take a left in the first roundabout followed by a right at the T-junction that follows (towards the Airport and Al Markhanya). Continue on Shak Boot Ibn Sultan Street 10,7 km. from the T-junction straight through all roundabouts towards Al Jimi, passing eventually the Fort roundabout and Al Ain Hospital and Hospital roundabout before finding the last large roundabout clearly signposted to the left towards Dubai. You are now on Mohammed Bin Kalifa Street.
