The rich and varied habitat of Jebel Ali Hotel with its exotic peacocks and guineafowl and its 9-hole golf course have attracted over 130 species since records began in 1981. Best visited in the early morning, the golf course irrigation sometimes attracts Chestnut-bellied Sandgrouse between 08:00 and 09:30, usually at the inland edge of the course.

Rufous-tailed Rock Thrush, Red-throated Pipit, Yellow Wagtail, Desert Wheatear, Pied Wheatear and Ortolan Bunting are regular migrants in spring, less common are Barred Warbler, Bluethroat, White-throated Robin, Semi-collared Flycatcher, Red-breasted Flycatcher and Masked Shrike. Rose-coloured Starling are regular in August and September.

Resident birds in the surrounding dunes include Black-crowned Sparrow-lark and Greater Hoopoe-lark.

Small wooded areas between the fairways attract Black Redstart in winter, with Common Kingfisher in the harbour, often sitting next to Striated Heron. Rare winter visitors have included Long-eared Owl and European Robin.
