Khor Ajman

25°25'40''N + 055°29'30''E

Khor Ajman is an under-watched site consisting of mudflats and mangroves 30 kilometers north of Dubai along the beach highway to Ra's al-Khaimah.

It is not mentioned in the Shell Birdwatching Guide.

Khor Ajman is well worth a stop on your way north along the coast. With a telescope from the parking area you can usually pick out a flock of Eurasian Spoonbills, Slender-billed Gulls, Gull-billed and Caspian Terns. Driving or walking down along the sandy track will  produce waders of various species, often including Terek Sandpiper.
